Youth Advisory Board

My name is Zayna, I am 18 years old and I am the chair of the Youth Advisory Board. I am a keen baker and enjoy swimming. I joined the YAB team because I wish to be part of the growth of our community through supporting our youth! During my time on the Youth Advisory Board I hope to enhance my leadership, communication and organizational skills, as well as develop my teamworking abilities.

Hello I’m Hadeeqa. Some of my interests include reading, cooking and handicraft.

I joined the YAB team in order to not only help others but help myself develop key skills such as leadership, problem solving etc, I thoroughly enjoy being part of the team and hope to develop more people skills such as being more confident when talking to people and voicing my opinions.

Hello, I'm Izabel, 18 years old, really invested in helping the community and providing help/bringing awareness about the continuous struggles in today's society.

I joined the Youth Advisory Board to help the youth live a better future/help kick-start an inspiring journey. A better future for everyone.

I would like to advance my skill in communication, note taking, leadership and boost my confidence so I am able to speak out for myself and lend my voice for others in the community. Massively interested in developing new skills whenever I get the opportunity.

My name is Iman, I am 18 years old and I’m part of the youth advisory board. One thing I like to do in my free time is badminton and swimming as I like to stay fit. I decided to join the youth advisory board to become more involved in the community and develop my social skills. In the future I feel as though this role will help with many opportunities or challenges I may face.

My name is Aaliyah and I'm currently 17 years old. My general interest are anime, Korean drama and Korean pop music. I joined the youth advisory board as I was hoping to gain even more skills that I could potentially use in my CV and take with me in the future. An impact I hope to have is making a difference in the community such as ensuring our communities voice is heard and reached out to the right people. Some key skills I'd like to develop is my problem solving skills. When it comes to finding solutions to problems, I tend to struggle therefore being in the YAB I hope to develop and work on the skill.

Hi I’m Pola. I’m 17 years old and I love playing guitar and coding. By joining the Youth Advisory Board I hope to get involved with and support the community, raise money for important causes and help with fun events. I’m also hoping to develop my communication and teamwork skills which will definitely be used here and in the future where I am programming video games with a team!

My name is Haifa and I’m 16 years old, I enjoy physical activities such as basketball and cycling. I joined the youth advisory board as I feel it’s extremely important for young people to have their voices heard and make your community a better place. I hope to become more confident and strong minded by being apart of the youth advisory board

I joined the youth advisory board because I was introduced by my cousin who was on the board previously and it made me want to join the team as well as showing me I can make an positive impact on my community that I live in. My name is Amarah and I'm 19 years old. My hobbies are gaming and reading. I joined the Youth Advisory Board because I want to help young people become more included and give them a voice within the community. Through this experience, I hope to develop my own confidence and communication skills.

Hi my name is Hasnain and I am 17 years. My interests are playing sports such as tablet tennis, football, badminton and going to martial arts. There are several reasons why I joined the youth advisory board.

Firstly, my friend Hadeeqa, who is already part of the youth advisory board, asked me to join as she knows that I like helping people. Additionally, in life I'm busy with school, so I felt like why not join and help the young people who are less unfortunate.

Lastly, I'm a Muslim and in Islam we have the 5 pillars and zakat (charity) is the 3rd pillar, they say that you should try and help poor people financially or give your time to support them. I hope with me joining the youth advisory board I would like to be a better person through my actions as they say "actions speak louder than words". I would like to develop my communication skills, confidence and teamworking skills when participating in the youth advisory board.
